Why is everybody loving this raspberry pie (sic!)
board?
'Everybody' does lot love the RPi.
It has its uses. For me, it's a machine with a USB host interface and a
serial port, and can run kermit. It lets me transfer files to USB sticks
for those who can't read real mass storage devices.

Every time the Pi is mentioned, you stick your oar in and whinge about it.
We get it. His nibs doen't like the Raspberry Pi. Shut up about it.
Are you sure that was Tony? The speling was perfect (as far as I could
tell)
Yes, it was me.
Y'know as whining goes, we can be pretty intense.
I whine as much as
anyone. But the above example was the gentlest weakest whining I've seen
in a long time. Surely we've said things more offensive than THAT!
Yes, I do have an RPi (and FWIW, I feel if you're going to moan about
something you should have some experience of it). Yes, I do use it, as
I said, to transfer to/from USB memory devices. It works for that.
But I have _serious_ reservations about using it as an embeedded
controller (physical layout, lack of I/O, etc) or an educational tool
(poor documentation, not 'open'). But it appears that the RPi has got a
religious following....
