Have you tried the "thrift stores?"
I just came back from a run, and, while I didn't find anyting I wanted, I did
see quite a number of "classic" hardware, including a Mac classic II for
$3.95, and offered to me at 25% discount because of my advanced (>55) years, a
bunch of Commodore stuff. Just what are you wanting to find? These stores
are unlikely to take in a roomful of mainframe, or even a rack, since people
can't easily haul that.

Subject: Okay, I've about had it!
It seems like every third post is about some new find
recently, from some
surplus store or liquidator or another.
Where are these places!? As far as I can tell, every one of 'em that once
existed in the Boston area is gone. No more Solid State Sales, Eli
Hefron's, Electronics Superstore, etc, etc. There aren't even a lot of
 thrift stores in this area.
The only sources I know of around of here are the MIT flea and a small
surplus store in Manchester NH that doesn't carry much beyond components and
 some old test equipment.
Can anyone tell me where within 200 miles of Boston I can find a decent
surplus store or liquidator? Or any contacts for auctions or even dumpster
 diving? I'm getting desperate here...
