You're mistaken. I have a 5340 and the 3262 printers and 8809 tape drives
to go with it, and it's all single-phase 110 or 220 (unless modified to
208, check first!) The current consumption isn't really much more than a
5360, one of which sits next to my 5340. A fair bit of the draw is in the
hard drives; some were equipped with 2, some with all 4 like mine. Even
with 4 it's not bad, only 1500 watts or so (for the 5340 only). A
microwave or space heater draws that. As far as its size- it makes a nice
mantle for the living room??? :-) I've slept on top of mine once.
