OTOH, there's plenty tinned braid on eBay for not much.
That's what I did to cover the 1/8" requirement.. found a couple feet of
Belden (audio, RF?) co-ax from the 1960s. It had a braided shield which I
stripped-out and used as raw material to make a few ground straps.
But I didn't see any 1/4" material on eBay - at least not in short lengths,
for fair money. All I need is a foot, at max.. and I'm wiling to pay $2 for
it.
