Although I was being facetious....on reflection that's not actually such a
bad idea.
It struck me, that if you were to design a "generic enough" 68K based
motherboard (pretty much just processor/RAM/expansion bus) then, by making
up the appropriate expansion cards, you could quite easily turn it into an
Atari ST, or an Amiga, or a Mac, or.... - and of course, these days, you
could harvest the required custom parts from discarded/broken machines.
Just an idle thought....
