Of course, then it also depends what you call a "hobby project"; Forth tends to
make its way onto things like satellites which aren't exactly hobby projects (inasmuch
as the US doesn't consider NASA to be a hobby, which it increasingly seems to), but
they are certainly often one-off designs.

I'd be surprised if there has been a single production compiler (i.e.
not some hobby project) written in assembly in the last 20 years.
