Indeed, the card I plucked out of the expansion box is only the card
with the board's line drivers and faceplate. The real board is inside
the machine, and looks to be a regular MV2000/3100 expansion board.
Since someone already mentioned that their serial expander has the
centronics-like connector for the H3104 on the faceplate, this *must*
then be the sync-serial ("X.25") one. See the new pics at:
