They're the same...
I know that Commodore made their own joysticks, bu everyone I knew during
the C64's heyday simply used Atari 2600 sticks.

Can't you use Spectrum joysticks too??
Or how about Sega Megadrive or Amiga CD32
pads?? I know it would depend on which pins
were used for button and direction detection
but they might work...
I hate using joysticks these days.
