Anyone with the cdrom can cut a tape if they have a
TK50 as there is no
real
restriction on where the media containing VMS install comes from.
However
it will likely be several tapes.
The number of tapes is the reason I didn't suggest this.
It would be easier to just buy a compatible CDROM drive
and install from the Hobbyist CDROM.
