Ah... the solid metal enclosure that you didn't want ;-)
Any sort of (spray) paint on shielding is a compromise. There are
challenges in getting it bonded well to the actual ground and in getting
a uniform and consistent coating that maintains the shield.
You really need to know what the emission levels are before you paint
it... and then again afterward... to see if you've made a noticeable
(or acceptable) improvement. The whole situation is then also frequency
dependent... so again, you need to know where the hot spots are and
address those accordingly.
Are you making a thing you are going to sell and needs FCC part 15 (or
other authority) compliance or are you trying to fix a one-off project
that is interfering with something?
