At a former company, we made DEC interface cards. We
had a tantalum
cap fail on one of our boards - it blew a 6mm hole in our board and the board
next to it. The board to the other side in the chassis was also damaged,
In college, I recall that they installed a new board in either an 11/780
or an 8600 (can't remember which it was at that point) and something went
*bang* and blew a hole in that board and the next one over.
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall. Of course, I was just
a student so to the University I WAS a fly on the wall. ;)
