People, please make sure your user agents don't generate syntax errors
like this! (I've done it myself, I know; my UA does not create such
errors, but also does not fix them when adding to existing References:
headers...I really ought to fix it. I fixed this one manually.)
Nowadays, I'm not so sure. An 8-pin MCU is
dirt-cheap and can be
easily adjusted to change the algorithm. I think it was ED that had
an article not too long ago that asked if an MCU or a 555 was better
for new projects.
Like most such questions, the answer is a definite "it depends".
I recently used a 555 because it had something like 1/4 to 1/10 of the
power consumption, which in this case mattered.
