Amps Volts and Ohms.
The product of the "Automatic Coil Winder and Electrical Company" of
England, now part of the "Megger" group. The last traditional (analogue)
AVO's were only made a couple of months ago, but have now been discontinued,
it is rumoured, because the Bakelite mould for the cases was damaged.
The AVO model 8 was considered the industry standard meter in the UK and
many ex-colonies, from it's introduction in the 40's until the advent of low
cost digital meters in the 90's. For reference, it is a 20k Ohms-per-volt
instrument DC, and 10k OPV AC.
