Nothing to do with Canada to my experience, more likely an IBMism.
Not that. My 1960s IBM manuals (mostly S/360) all show coding form
samples with slashed zeroes.
(US) Military? I remember one of my bosses (1975) insisted that we
slash our Oh's. Not sure of his background, but it could have been
military. This was an IBM 1130 shop.
