Any audio tape recorder that you might use with any other
microcomputer. Usually just a cheap portable cassette recorder, like
the Panasonic RQ-2102. (Still made and sold, but probably with
redesigned electronics for cost reduction.)
I've heard of people using reel-to-reel decks on earlier
microcomputers, and they'd work fine with a 5150 as well, though there
wouldn't be any benefit over a cheap cassette recorder.
I haven't heard of anyone using an 8-track, but that actually would
have the advantage of supporting (incredibly slow) random access.
