Yes, it is that simple. The same IC is used in both.
It's just a
microcode ROM (MICROM). The registers it uses are in the MMU chip, so you
need that as well.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. You'll be happy to know that the
transplant went well. I now have hardware floating point in the 11/23+ (as
confirmed with SHOW CONFIG), and my Fortran-77 won't yell at me anymore.
