The correct
name for what you are
[incorrectly] calling a "PCMCIA Card" is a
"PC Card".
And here I always thought that PCMCIA stood for "People Can't Memorize
Computer Industry Acronyms"...

I understood (perhaps incorrectly) that PCMCIA cards were always 16-bit
cards, and PC Cards could be either 16 or 32 (but were almost always 32).
In other words, PCMCIA cards were PC Cards, but PC Cards weren't always
PCMCIA cards.
