Hmm. OK... I used the monitor (VR320) that was
connected to
my VXT2000, and that seems to be a GPX tube. I dragged a
(heavy !) VR219-D3 monitor out of storage, and connected
that. No go, either, _and_ it wont sync either. Looks like
that one is also GPX- its the old model, with the "sync rate"
select switch at the rear.
So, I'll have to find a VR219-DA or somesuch, first..

may have some useful information. Do you have any
modern PC monitor that can do SOG? - my Iiyama does,
for example. If you hook one of these up, rather than
one of the DEC fixed-frequency monitors, you should be
able to tell whether the rest of the system is OK.
Also bear in mind that the VS3100-76 takes quite a
while before doing *anything* on the monitor - I
forget exactly how long, but it could be as long as
3 minutes. I assume you know this, but just in case ...
