I have a few plotters here and a bunch of pens. My pens are probable dried
up too, but I recall a friend of mine telling me a long time ago here was
something you could inject into the pen that made them useable.
Unfortunately, I don't remember what is was.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know of a (preferably UK/EU) source of HP type plotter pens,
suitable for the 7470A pen plotter?
It seems most of my coloured pens have dried out while the plotter was in
storage, leaving me with a single pack of Roland XD-4SPA 0.2mm black pens
and a couple of of unbranded, considerably thicker black pens.
Failing that, it looks like I might be looking for a Linux-based
alternative to John Miles' "7470.EXE" plotter emulator...
Thanks,
