On almost all of the Xebec/IBM bouards, near the center of the board
there are 8 solder pads for holding 4 switches. That provides for
four possibilities for each of two drives. All open is normally 10M,
so you probably have at least one jumper in that area.

The IBM "official" low level format routine is on the "Advanced
Diagnostics" diskette.
The stock XT is one configuration that Speedstor handles reasonably well.
