We're not just talking about Manhattan here, although the hotel capacity
of Manhattan is nothing to sneeze at. The New York metro area is *big*.
Actually the best place to read up on that sort of thing is New York's
documents for the failed Olympic bid.
I've spent a *lot* of time in LV. Enough time to know that the end of
the metro area isn't very far from the center, and it ends rather
abruptly. New York's doesn't end so abruptly, but there's no special
reason for that, it's just that it's a couple hundred years older.
