My keyboard/mouse are connected using a _different_ universal
interface: bluetooth. This frees up two USB ports for other things.
In fact, It's quite possible to have a PC these days with nothing but
USB connectors (and power, I guess). Video is typically not done for
speed reasons, but you can buy USB video adapters.
