What's the state of the VS4000/90 and NetBSD?
Maybei my VS4000 ist the
fastest way (besides of compile time).
NetBSD/vax runs just fine inside SIMH. BTDT ;-)
It also was surprisingly fast. No idea how SIMH on a 2.7 GHz Athlon compares
to real VAX metal speed-wise, though.
Some guy started to hack support for Qemu. I don't know the innards of
Qemu, but IIRC he told me that it's driving something like a
just-in-time-recompilation approach. If it ever gets to a useable
state (ie. the ISA is implemented and enough devices to boot something
useful), that might be *quite* fast.
