You want to do a high voltage insulation test (aka 'megger' test) at
least. And run it at full voltage to make sure nothing flashes over.
True, but unfortunately I don't currently own or have access to such a
meter. I would certainly find one to test a transformer core I wound if I
planned to use it unattended.
