I only noticed one of these for the first time about a month ago. I
was wondering why they were dragging a chain; it was throwing lots of
sparks. Didn't seem like a great idea to me, but what do I know?
It's not since there shouldn't be sparks as the chain or strap is
supposed to be non-ferrous, ie brass or copper. Sure it wears out but no
sparks. Just a good ground to earth to drain the buildup from the frame.
