Burroughs 6-bit BCL character code (B5000) survived in Burroughs MCP
systems until sometime in the early 1980s when support for it was
finally removed (mostly from the compilers/editors I think, I have a
vague idea the codepage tables might still be there), and they
continued on with EBCDIC.
