Hmm. Much the same thing used to be said of the teaching of Latin to
grammar school students.
FWIW I spent several years learning Latin, and while I can't rememebr
much of it, I'm darn glad I did.
Well here's where I've got to disagree. I took three years of Latin,
and I found it to be a complete waste of time. "Latin is a dead
language, it's plain enough to see. It's killed a hundred thousand men
and now it's killing me!" ;)
I stil lbeleive that most people can think logicially,
and should be
taught to do so. I wonder how else you can solve complex problems.
In my country, we don't solve complex problems. We go to the store
and buy things that we can't afford, and we sit on the couch and watch
other people play games.
