You can always opt to target the Jailbreak market. Apple don't seem to care a whole
lot about jailbreaking, except for explicitly not providing support.
The key issue here is whether "alternative" computing will be actively shut out
or not. The danger lies in extending the "walled garden" approach to the world
at large, eg. denying open systems access to the internet. I find issues like net
neutrality, for this reason and others, far mor eimportant than manufacturers offering
closed systems.
