The power output from a PCjr brick is 16.7 VAC - it's not common. And
It's not that critical, though. My PCjr came without a power brick, and
it's not easy to find 230V-input ones anyway. I made my own using a 15V
transformer (I think about 60VA) in a metal box. Of course the box was
groudned, and me being me, and inserted a fuse in both the primary and
secodnary circuits.
For some reason my PCjr TechRef doesn't give the schematic for the power
brick, but it was easy to work out what was needed from the schematic of
the PSU regulator PCB.
no power supply that I get surplus is going to have
two output connectors.
Let's just assume that it's custom, or bust. Can I make this particular
contraption better/safer, or should I abandon it?
I see no reason my mounting those transformers solidly in an earthed
metal box wouldn't be safe.
