wave of the future. Then C steamrolled over it.
Are there any other languages that have gotten
microcoded into a processor?
Many. There was APL microcode for several IBM mainframes. And just about
every language that ran on a Xerox D-machine (Alto, Dorado, Dolphin, Dandelion,
etc.) had its own special microcode.
