Well I for one found it amusing that HP was trying to get away from the "PC"
moniker calling them "access devices for the Internet" (which can also be
palmtops etc). You know a really bright chap in corporate would say:
"Well we make lots of different
kinds of equipment, and we gave
all the analog stuff away to the
Agilent so we just have the
digital stuff. I know, we'll
call the combined company the
digital equipment company, gee
that has a nice ring to it."
Of course Microsoft loses big because their two biggest licensees for Wince are
consolidating into one licensee.
