BTW, the architect for PGA is named Curtis Priem; he
later went on to do
some 2D and 3D chip architecture for Sun, then went on to co-found (not
confound) NVidia, and is CTO there.
BTW, the PGA was designed while he was at Vermont Microsystems, Inc.
So I guess you might say that the GeForce GPU used in today's PCs are the
ultimate evolution of the PGA design.
