I don't know if anything's online, but the old "double eyeball"
operator's console for the Control Data 6000 series used an RLC
network to generate the complete set of 63 displayable characters.
The display technology was vector with refresh provided by a PPU
(usually PP1) rewriting the entire contents of both screens
periodically.
