Fast paper tape readers (like the Facit PE1000) have a
capacitive read
Do you ahve one? I've read about them, but have never seen one or the
schematics for one...
What is 'fast'? A good optical reaser will do 700-1000 cps. Is it
significantly faster?
head. It generates a HF, and the paper tape acts as
dielectricum that
changes its constant depending on hole/no hole. This change is then
detected by the read circuitry.
