NEC uPD7265 that omitted the IAM for so-called "Sony Mode" recording, but
those are exceedingly rare.
The (original) IBM floppy format doesn't know about the IAM. So all my IBM
floppies (e.g. 5110, 4331 etc.) don't have IAMs and can be read/written by
a PC without any problem using any FM capable FDC. That's the way I prefer
to transfer data to/from my 5110.
