So this clouds matters considerably. Are you
*certain* that the
motor is 50Hz? 50Hz induction motors will spin just fine on 60Hz and
pretty much vice-versa, but the speed won't be the same.
Very liekly to be. As you know, it's easy to change voltage (an
(auto)transformer), it's a lot harder to change frequency. So the
European Model 33s (and I asusme other Teletypes iwth induction motors)
had 110V motors that would run on 50Hz and were geared appropraitely.
I seem to rememmbere the official set-up had a normal 3 pin 110V US mains
plug and in-line socket between the autotransformer and the machine. It
was notmally all hidden in the floor stand.
