I think it's very much how we "should
be" referring to "Xerox
copies" and "Kleenex tissue" and "Styrofoam expanded
polystyrene",
but no one really does, which contributes to the dilution of
the trademark. For example, you would still call it a
"Remington shaver", though in some part that's so people don't
think you're shaving with a shotgun.
Or a typewriter...
