Unfortunately, that isn't very specific.
There's about 30 years of
technology span, going from fixed-head 14" disks with discrete
transistors and resistors on the logic cards to modern Q-bus SCSI
host adapters using FPGA's.
You really need to write him...PDP's are not my specialty.
