They're actually pretty cool about it. I picked up a gear puller a
couple of years ago when I was replacing <mumble> on a '74 Maverick
front-end, and the cheaply-built gear puller lost the battle. The
threads stripped out of the crossbar. I pointed out the damage and
offered to pay for the tool when I took it back. The guy just laughed
and said "It's part of our overhead. Did you finish the job?"
'Course, I'd spent a good bit of money there over the past few
months, too.
