That's one of those cases where they have to put them in to *save*
money. Putting in a degaussing coil is *much* cheaper than a single
warranty servicing.
Sure (Like fitting a fuse is much cheaper than paying out when the thing
catches fire and the house burns down).
More seriously, I was only disputing the OP's claim that some colour CRT
TVs /monitors were sold without degaussing coils. Can anyone poitn me to
a service sheet/schematic for such a set?
