What experience have people had with computer
equipment being stored
in a unheated environment for 10-20 years, where the
temperature runs
from -10 to 100 degrees at the extremes of the
seasons? Does this
tend to kill ICs, caps, etc?
Those temperature ranges should not damage ICs, caps, etc.
BUT, ... with medium to high humidity, those temperature ranges could
result in condensation, with its related problems.
And some people have problems with ICs working loose from sockets due to
temperature changes. trivial to fix, but can prevent proper operation
until the chips are reseated.
