If you were
to actually TRY it, with the right tools, and the right
mindset (as in "learning a new skill" rather than trying to treat it
like it's through-hole soldering without the holes), I bet you'd love it.
My through-hole soldering was terrible until I did a lot of practice
(socketing a few bare XT motherboards).
I would expect to destroy my first few attempts. Maybe i should practice
by trying to desolder and resolder a few "modern" boards
