I'm half asleep, but won't putting a DD11-CK or DD11-DK give you MUD slots
in any unibus system, like the 11/40?
Or did I misread something?

I don't think so. As far as I've ever seen, only the 11/04, 11/24, and
11/44 have MUD slots, and they only have a few of them.
The 11/34 and 34a systems have 7 of 9 slots MUD.

wasn't
a Unibus variation. The J-11 based Unibus
machines don't normally use
Unibus memory at all, let alone MUD.
