The DECmate III is much like a DECmate II with fewer expansion options

not sure if there was a way to install an RD31 or not in there. It
has either an Intersil or Harris IM6120 or H6120 12-bit CPU chip and a
full 32Kwords of RAM, and can run either WPS-8 or OS/278. It can't
run OS/8 because of very slight differences in how console I/O works.
DECmate III is floppy only, DECmate III+ has the RD31. I have both but
don't use them as often as I should (simh is just a little more
portable :-) )
