Either someone at Hynix has a sense of humour, or they have run right
out of IC codes and have come full circle to 2708 again.
Can those of us under age 40 get a translation?
The 2708 was an early EPROM (but by no means the first EPROM). It was a
1K*8 bit device, and needed 3 power supply voltages (even in read mode).
The Chip in Jos's memory stick has a very similar number, but is many
times the capacity (and different technology). He was just remarking on
that similarity.
