Because peanut butter is a paste, it's less messy than other oils.  It
also pulls the glue debris into itself to make cleanup easier afterwards.
  I'll have a crack at it with naptha first, and
then a little WD40, all on
 inconspicuous areas*. 
Naptha will probably do the job nicely.
