That's what it ended up meaning, and most of the modules indeed were made up of
discrete wire-lead components and DIP's on
a plug-in card.
But DEC's original intention was a much closer bonding
of a hybrid module to a PCB sans wires. See my thread
in a.f.c. on this topic in 1998 :-).
