 YES, it really IS about connecting sensors to directly input real-time
 into a spreadsheet! 
Eeek!

This reminds me of a spreadsheet for the Jupiter Ace (a cheap UK home 
computer with the odd feature that it had Forth, not BASIC in ROM0. The 
cell formulae for this spreadsheet were actualyl Forth colon definitons, 
you could do anythign with them, including accessing I/O ports.
