Don't you dare grab any of the keyboards I'm trying to get on EBay! ;-)
They're for the 3278 terminals that I've recently acquired.
No worries there - I just surprised at the demand for them. Unless
it's just you and one other bidder going back and forth on them :)
We'll I just won. :-). I'm bidding on another that has a cut cable. The one I
just won
Is a data entry keyboard and I really want the other which is typewriter layout. The
plan is to initially just swap the cables (assuming I win the 2nd one). I'm hoping
it
isn't too hard to recreate the cut end given a good one.
I've also recently acquired a 3174-64R
controller (so that I can talk
to the mainframe through ethernet). ;-)
Thanks, that's one clue toward the eventually full setup. From what
I've gathered, most of the terminal controllers have cards/modules
that will determine what "comes out the other end." There's no real
mainframe around here so the goal is talking to Hercules on a PC.
With that in mind, I'd guess Ethernet, Token Ring and maybe serial are
on the menu.
Yea. It took a while but I managed to find one. Initially I'll be talking to
Hercules too until my Multiprise 3000 shows up.
