One of my favourite CDs skips terribly on one track
and
it really pisses me off, especially when I'm supposed to be mellowing out.
If you have a CD-R drive, you could try making a copy. The CD-R drive
might be able to read past the skip (or it might not, but it's worth
a try). Use CD Paranoia on Linux to read the original; it tells you whether
it's getting errors, and does retries if so. A few of my CDs that have
problems in some of my audio players can be read fine in my CD-R drive,
and the copies play fine. Of course, if you're unlucky, you might have
an audio CD player that can't read CD-R's at all.
